My New Year Resolutions - A Tag

So dedicating this post to them :) . Moreover this my FIRST TAG in Blogging, so even I was curious to right something :D

  • எங்க திரும்பி pre-sales பண்ண விடுட்டுவங்களோனு பயந்த மாதிரி இல்லாம , SCM team- ல join பண்ணினது another wish that got fulfilled.
Another big thing of 2007 year wish.

Okay.

  • Share மார்க்கெட் was always a fantasy to me. So a successful failure of this year :)
Again curse my laziness.

  • Make atleast 10 new friends
கஷ்டமான வேலைதான் but will definetly try my best.
  • Professional- ல இந்த வருஷத்துல I need to prove my skills.
Hope all are realistic and achievable.

Anyone can take up this tag and write about their NYR. Please give me the link, I will definetly read and comment :)

Looking Back...

  • இந்த வருஷத்தோட highlight, second innings of my career life. B-School முடிச்சு 3 months வெட்டியா OB அடிச்சதுக்கு பிறகு , got my Joining Date.

  • எத்தனையோ தடவ நான் அம்மாவுக்கு surprise கொடுத்திருந்தாலும் , இந்த varusha தீபாவளி was really a great surprise for her. I still remember her experssion on face when I gifted the saree to her.

Fortunately I had an oppurtunity to enjoy once again. மொத்த college staffs & juniors எங்களுக்கு கொடுத்த வரவேற்பு , I just can't express in words. My B-School gave entirely different perspective of learning from what I saw in Engineering.

  • இந்த வருஷத்தோட total failure was when my sister came to bangalore. அவள் சொல்லும் போது எல்லாம் நம்பாம எங்க வீட்டு குட்டிச்சாத்தான் will take care for 3 days in பெங்களூர் சவால் விட்டு மாட்டிக்கிட்டது .

Thanks to sriprasad, then my classmate now my collegue for choosing a good nick name for me :) எனக்கே சொல்லுறதுக்கு கொஞ்சம் கூச்சமாதான் இருக்கு , but to say in short GUNDUMAMA RETURNS :D

  • ஒரு விஷயத்த தொடங்கிறதுக்கு அதை பத்தி முழுசா தெரியனும்னு அவசியம் இல்லை, you should be bold enough to try it out - அப்பிடினு சொல்லி , மொத்த server-யும் என்கிட்ட கொடுத்து, you can bring up the system easily-னு encourage பண்ணின என்னோட boss துணிச்சல்.

Waiting for 2008 to create a platform to meet. Are you hearing my dear?? ;)

Created நிரைய new friends. Just ஒரு smile , it make a sweet morning. Just try.

May this 2008 brings peace and prosperity to this world. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year !

Some sort of ESP??? ;)

Happened to see a Telugu movie called "Happy Days". A movie by Kammula who directed my favourite movie Godavari and Anand. Simply to put across, he kept up my expectation very well.

The story is all about the college days of 6 friends. I should say director had succeeded in brining all the aspects of 4 year college days in the 3 hour movie. Well, I'm not going to write any review about the movie. You can catch them up here.

What I like in all his movies are, he doesn't show his heorine as the barbie doll coming for two songs and strips off their so called cloths. All the characters will be positive. One scene to say, the hero (some new face, but did a lot good work in the film) tells the heorine at the nasacent stage of friendship, he feels like kissing her. heronie's father hears this up and got upset & was discussing with his wife about the friendship his daughter holding up. The heroine goes up to her father and say, I know this is very difficult to understand, but I think I can handle it very well without harming anyone.

Apparently, they fall in love with each other, which everyone expects. I like the Tyson aka Arjun character who fell in love with the senior gal in the college and managed to get her. Though the director keeps a pause in their relation , he also taken care it doesn't send a wrong message to the audience. Infact it reminds me about one of my College Senior, about whom I was crazy for about 3 years and finally one day caught hold to speak to her. Guess what she asked me?..

"Err..do you study in my Department?"......

Infact she was my first crush I openly admitted to my HOD at one point of time :D . To the higher side, I wrote her name as my Dream Girl on a Souvenir released by our Department. Lucky me, I wasn't barred out the college as she had completed and left by the time.
And about the movie, If you haven't watched any recent college oriented movies after "April Mathathil" then go and watch it. Though story wise it doesn't make any difference, the screenplay and direction stands apart.

I'm eagerly waiting for Kalloori to release in my city. Heard its too good on the same lines. And guess what heroine of both the movies are same . Tammana - I think she started getting good projects ahead.

My Wish

Quite cool movie. After a long time I found full of energy flowing in the movie. The characters were alive and blushing their true sense throughout the movie.

Story : Frusted-young-business man(Shaid Kapoor) ditched by his GF, found himself in pool of maze in the business, suddenly leaves the empire built by his papa overnite and goes out like a nomad in search of peace. Meets Kareena Kapoor on train, who is happy go lucky kinda gal travels from Mumbai to Punjab.
They miss the train at one point and as you guess travel together to Punjab. She takes him to her home and found that family is merrying around to fix her marriage with some guy in their family, which she doesn't like and obviously as you expect both SK & KK flew away.
For godsake you think they both are in love that's not true. KK was in love with some monkey in Kulumanali and they start their journey again to meet him. Meanwhile SK was very much attracted and got impressed by KK and start falling in love. After reaching kulu, SK leaves her and goes back to Mumbai to continue his business and gets succeeded.
On the otherhand family of KK is searching for her and didn't hear anything from her for 9 months. They blame SK for ruining their family. As every hero, SK takes the responsibility of reuniting the family with KK starts his journey again to find her. After a long search he found that she got ditched by her boy friend (that monkey) and they express their love to each other. brings her back to home and lived happily after that.
Script: Story was pathetic with lot of potholes and logic less script. Normal story, but I should honestly accept SK & KK had done their part vey well. For the first time I have seen KK acting with cloths around ;)

Normally in such travel scripts directors will show off their talent in hunting locations abroad and make a fix to producers. This guy (Imtiaz Ali) has done a decent job using locations in India itself. Another worse travel movie I had seen is "Puthukotaillirunthu Saravanan". Nammba aalungala adichikave mudiyathu. They scrwed the whole movie.
Certain shots & scenes like KK introducing SK to her sister has the guy whom she has planned to marry to her (sis). The scene in 3rd grade hotel and the following police raid.
Music: Commendable work by Music Director Pritam. All the songs were rocking.
Actors: Kareena was too good. Though I don't like her, she did a really good job in the movie. Shaid was equally cool and script fits aptly for his body language and age. Both together make a good pair. Offlate heard both have separated and not dating is that so ?? ;)
P.S.: For those who don't know Hindi - Jab means When . Kathailam solliyachu poi parthuttu vanthu naan sonnen thaan parthen, kadi aagiduchu-nu yaarachum comment potta kola vizhum.
P.S. for P.S. : This is one is not for you PK :)

Dollar is UP so the Shoppers :)

Wife: “How much space do we have in the car? Can we squeeze this microwave in?”

Husband: “No, it’s pretty crammed in there.”

Wife: “What about on your lap?”

Husband: “I’m carrying the refrigerator on my lap, remember?”

Wife: “What about on the roof?”

Husband: “No, we’d need to have a roof rack for that. We can’t just put a microwave on the roof. It might fall off. It’s unsafe.”

Wife: “Okay, what if we put the refrigerator on your seat and put the microwave on top of it?”

Husband: “Where will I sit?”

Wife: “Uh … what about on the roof?”

" Then எப்படி இருக்க? என்ன பண்ணுற? . எப்போ Joining Date எதாச்சும் தெரிஞ்சுதா?"

" இல்லபா. மாத்தி மாத்தி சொல்லுராங்க. யாருக்கும் கரெக்டா தெரியல. May be in November. "

" Oh! good. Then what doing now?"

" சும்மா தான் இருக்கேன். ஹே என்னால நம்பவே முடியல. உங்களோட voice ரொம்ப familiar-a இருக்கு. " - ஆச்சர்யாபட்டாள்

" நிஜமாவா. Even I feel the same. சரி அப்பா அம்மா எல்லாரும் எப்படி இருக்காங்க? "

"எல்லாரும் ரொம்ப fine . அம்மா எப்படி இருக்காங்க? மருமகன் என்ன சொல்லுறான்? "

" All are fine here. How are you feeling now?"

" You still remember that. Thanks.

But I felt contented after speaking to her.

Have you come across something like this ever? I had a couple of times earlier, once with my closest friend and other time with my mom. But both the time I was speaking less and listening more. Same happened this time too :)

P.S.: This is my first post in Tamil. Thanks to Shyam for sharing the Google Transileration link.

Infectious Conjunctivitis - Awareness

Sharing a mail from my Company Care Desk for the benefit of Bloggers :)

Infectious Conjunctivitis - Awareness

Various parts of the country are experiencing an outbreak of infectious conjunctivitis and there are reports that some of those infected are suffering some "corneal involvement". This minor damage to the outer layer of the eye can occur with the more serious types of conjunctivitis, but the condition usually heals over a few days, especially with antibiotic treatment. Medical treatment may be required.

The three main causes of epidemic conjunctivitis are adenovirus, coxsackievirus, and enterovirus, although some local doctors are speculating that, because of the severity, a new strain of virus may be responsible for this outbreak.

The Condition
"Common" conjunctivitis, or "pink eye", is inflammation of the conjunctiva (the lining of the eyelids). The condition can be caused by infection with viruses or bacteria. Other, non-infectious causes include irritants or allergies.

Viral conjunctivitis occurs frequently and is self-limiting - which means it disappears on its own without treatment. Symptoms are usually mild. Eyes become red or pink, itchy and watery. There may be a discharge and vision may be blurry. Some infected people become more sensitive to light. Conjunctivitis is sometimes associated with a cold or sore throat.

The virus is spread from person to person. You can get the virus directly from another person, or by touching an object that has been contaminated by the virus (including your hands) to your eyes. The disease can also spread through contaminated water, such as in swimming pools. No particular treatment is required. Symptoms disappear in about four days to a week. Cold compresses to the eyes can be used to relieve discomfort.

To prevent the disease from spreading, practice good hygiene habits:

·                               Avoid close contact with anyone who is infected.

·                               Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently.

·                               Refrain from touching or rubbing your eyes.

·                               Don’t share personal hygiene / grooming items such as wash cloths or eye make-up.

·                               Children who are infected should be kept out of school or day care until they have recovered.

·                                Seek medical attention if symptoms are more than mild, or are persistent.

Corneal Involvement symptoms are as follows. Seek Medical help if you have them:

·                               Your eyes are very red and/or swollen

·                                You have a feeling of "sand" in your eyes

·                                You cannot tolerate light.

Why Global Warming is a hoax?

Global Warming -
the word made rags to rich;
the word that dumped wealth for many people;
the word ditched 6L people by taking off their job;
and yeah! the word that recognized Al Gore as a Nobel Laurrette.

I'm not going to say what is Global Warming and why it is on the news for all these days. You can read a lot of article on that by Googling. I'm here to say, why Global Warming is a Hoax.

There are several reasons for the so called Scietists to claim on GW and one of the important factor is the "human activities". Since they can't prove that other man made stuffs (which are still hazardous to human health in many ways) are causing problem for GW, they landed to something is theoritical and generic in nature.

Why do we say Humans are not responsible for the cause of GW? Check out this website which tabulates all the reasons for GW to be a Hoax. Some of them here for your convinience.

If the Earth was laboring under an accelerated greenhouse effect caused by human produced CO2, the troposphere (the layer of the earth's atmosphere roughly 10-15km above us) should heat up faster than the surface of the planet, but data collected from satellites and weather balloons doesn't support this fundamental presumption.

The human contribution to carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is minimal in comparison to other natural means, including volcanic emmission and CO2 produced by animals, bacteria, decaying vegetation and the ocean. The human "carbon footprint" is vastly outweighed by all of these factors.

It is a pure cheap play of politicians and business tycoons across the globe to back this "Nothing Worth" movement. A desire on the part of climate science researchers to attract financial support. A desire on the part of conservative political leaders including Margaret Thatcher,[19][21] and Helmut Kohl [22] to promote nuclear power while attracting the political support of Green groups.

These would infact lit up fire for more Nuclear Deals (which when something goes wrong will put several lifes in stake) than improving the environmental conditions of the Planet.

Check out the following link on The Great Global Warming Swindle, which will give much more clear picture on this topic.

This is just another fear created by Americans like the Y2K, which is ultimately nothing. Finally 2000 busted the Dot Com companies leading to huge financial crisis around the world. Similar way they are boosting Global Warming, which is a useless analysis that would cause huge loss to the mankind that it is expected by the GW itself.

By Y2K - India got a new avenue for growth, but by GW they are thrashing the growth of African countries which are still under developed (and could be a potential threat to US Industrialization). Americans never do things which are not beneficial for them. And GW is one which would save their *** and help them to build their wealth by suppressing other countries growth. Today it is AFRICA; Tomorrow it might be ASIA?

P.S.: I'm not against Environmental Protection. But I can't go around for something is fake & hoax. If each individual is disciplined by the way he lives, there is no need to panic on anything in this world. GW is a fear created by a group of people for their benefit- better don't fall the trap.

P.S.: This post is NOT against anyone. But against the GW. Its to support the Conspiracy Theory on Global Warming. I'm laying only the facts on this post. Let the readers be the judge. Don't be a cheer leader for something that doesn't exist.

Which side of the Brain are you using?

Almost in every blog this pretty gal appeared. It won't look good if I neglect this little gal in my post :) Experts says she test the way you think. If you are Right Brain oriented she revolves clockwise, else vice-versa.

Now, I always see her rotating clockwise no matter how hard I try to focus on her legs and make her go the other way.

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of
the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS

  • uses logic

  • detail oriented

  • facts rule

  • words and language

  • present and past

  • math and science

  • can comprehend

  • knowing

  • acknowledges

  • order/pattern perception

  • knows object name

  • reality based

  • forms strategies

Book Worm

A couple of weeks back, I went to Landmark in Forum Mall to buy a book to present to my niece. I was searching for some good story books that would suit her age (7). Looking at the huge store with thousands of books, I went nostalgic about my childhood book reading.

When I was studying in my 4 std, I was introduced to "Chacha Choudry" comic, that was the first book, I've read apart from my school books. My mom used to lend it from her office collegues, which heavily helped me to while out my times during holidays.

Later we subscribed to Ambulimama which also went long for a year. Gokulum, which we started subcribing at the age of 11 changed my life from Comical to something realistic. Articles & How-to-do stuff in Gokulum where my favourites. During my 10th Summer holidays, I got registered myself to the local library, which upgraded my reading habit from Children Books to Thrillers & Novels. Those where times I used to LIVE at Libraries. I start from my home at 9:30 after my mom leaves to office and will be back at 1pm for lunch and again start at 3 pm and will be there till 7pm. Novels of N C Mohandas, Rajesh Kumar, Pattukottai Prabhakar , Sujatha etc where my life in those periods.

During my 11 std holidays I started buying books from Chennai Book Fair. The Book fair showed the Dangerous man in me. I bought books for Rs.5000 and completed all (nearly 30) books within 3 months of time. Book fair introduced me to various other authors and poets. Only to Desi :)

During my college days, I had little access to books apart from study related. To improve my English Knowledge, one of my friend suggested to read English Novels of Sheldon. Somehow, I never liked the way SS wrote his books. May due to the fact that I need to carry Oxford Dictionary throughout the completion of novel :D

My favourite in English Authors was James Hadley Chase. Again thrillers and nothing more than that. After joining my first Job, I had liberty to spend on books again, which poped up the terror of buying books for Rs.3K at Book fair.

During my Higher Studies, I used to read all kind of books in my College Library. I had a reputation of borrowing all the books at least once from my library and the effective user of the same :) Though I never claimed to read everything.

Now back to start, finally I chose to buy a TinTin Comic book, which was priced almost 10 % of my monthly salary :) Books are getting costly now-a-days !

Public Sunts at its Heights !!!

Today had a chance to see one of the ugliest Public Stunts showcased by a TV channel & Actor. You guessed it right, I'm talking about Jodi No.1 Season 2 telecasted in Vijay TV on which Simbhu is one of the Jury.

Earlier a couple of episode ago there were some ruff & tuff telecasted about the performance of Krithika's Mother on the Judgement. Just because to add some spicy to their show they started telecasting these non-sense. Bloddy this is just a TV Show & Game. You don't have to show anything that happens behind the screens. In case you need, still have a space called Bloopers. Why do you play with the emotions of people out there? The same thing was already taken note from PK's blog post on Airtel Super Singer Junior.

This time it is with someone , who is known to the industry well about his performance and acting. I'm talking about Babloo. Damn, if you don't like the way he danced you can comment on that. But why you are bothered if he is angry on you or not?

Its good to know that you appreciate when people do things well. But who gave you the permission to disgrace when someone did it wrong? Well, if you think that with a few drops from your eyes would settle things well then I'm sorry dude. Its not this way.

I seriously don't understand why the co-participants haven't tried stopping Babloo when he walked out of the stage, while they ran behind Simbhu? Is it because he is a Actor at Silver Screen?? Why this partiality is there?

There are many unanswered questions revolving around. Ultimately its the TV's TRP ratings which would have gone at its peak, due to the promos it had floated around during the past week.

"Live in Bangalore with Rajni Sir-uuu"

Have you heard these lines somewhere?? Well these are from Radio One Bangalore. Very similar ones for Chennaites would be Mokka Macchan of Radio Mirchi. Though I'm not a regular radio listener, my travel time pass is always Radio One or Radio City. One reason they play many Hindi songs, second they know other ways of entertaining the people.

Take this Radio ONE ka "Live in Bangalore with Rajni Sir", a teaser kind of short program comes for max of a minute where someone mimic as Rajni got caught in some kind of trouble and how he solved it in his style. I wonder how else they can exploit his style & mannerism. Rather than touching upon the usual things, they tried to make it simple & funny.

Similar one is Chamrajpet Charles. The style and the way of presentation was really good. They come up with some really stupid & peppy idea and start mimic it in a comical way.

Radio City on the other hand gives cool & nice songs without sometime even breaks. They have good concepts on which their RJs work and the output is also commendable. Radio Mirchi, though they are in Bangalore for quite long time, I couldn't find much competitive to others. Not even to the Chennai Radio Mirchi. Rather S FM (our Suryan FM), Fever 104 etc., are doing good job in this space.

If you happens to be in bangalore, just hear a few of them . You'll love it!

Break @ Mysore

Last weekend went to Mysore to meet my friend Arun. He was barging me every weekend to come to mysore.. Eventhough I was not in a mood to go, due to his continous efforts :) I started on the later half of saturday.

It was't much difficult to catch a Mysore bus from KGBS as services are categorised very well. These buggers drive a A/C Airavath bus to Mysore (3 hrs journey) at a cost of Rs.180. Quite surprising but we had a heavy rush to it. I found a govt company's understanding of customer surprising. Either ways, I'm not so wealthy or generous to shell out 200 bucks for 3 hr journey, so took Rajahamsa for Rs.120 ( except A/C & Water bottle everything was pretty much okay)

The bus stopped near a place called Madur. This place was very famous for its Vada (Madur Vada). I use to have 2 vadas for Rs.5, four years back during my Project Work @ Tumkur. Now the rates are changed to one vada for Rs.5 . But not bad the taste remains the same. Bought a few vadas for my friend too (Tamilar panpadu, should not go empty handed)

Reached Mysore at 6pm. And went to his home straight. The next day planned to go Chamundi hills early morning so that we can have a nice sun rise experience at Hill. But as usual we lazy buggers got up at 8am. Rushed by taking bath and went straight up the hill in 30 mins by his bike.

Mannn! riding a bike on those roads was really good. Unlike other hills, Chamudi has a relatively (or no) hair pin bends making you very comfortable for travel. Moreover the roads are wide enough for two bus to travel at a time in opposite direction.

Went first to the temple and found to be very crowded. Cursed our luck took a spl darshan ticket for Rs.20 each and wet inside the temple. The architecture of temple was excellent. I concentrated much on Devi outside rather than one inside the temple ;)

Then came down and went to Infosys campus where my friend works... Neat & Nice campus. To be honest I haven't seen any campus of that much huge area in the recent past. Right from Football court to Cricket practise net to Salon shop to Departmental store everything was built up inside and they are very well maintained too. But for a strength of 12K people that campus seems to be tooo big. Anyways looking at the growth of Infy over the past 2 years, they justify the need & neccesity to have such campus.

Then after Lunch at campus ( Pathetic Chicken Biriyani :( ), we came back to room as there was no other place to roam around or not interested to being a dry area on sunday afternoon ( Should ask NRM to stop those bloody shows in their multiplex on sunday afternoon)

Evening we went to Palace. It was another awesome place with full of lights on them. Palace was really glittering making the whole surrounding a paradise. Alas it lasted only for 1 hours as the palace was closed at 8pm. Came back to room and slept early as I've planned to catch the bus next day morning.

Somehow got the bus for Bangalore. Being Monday morning , people where racig to their office. Surprisingly my company gave a off for Janmashtami :)

Marriage Hiccups

First thing first...

Congrats to my friend Sanju Baba for his "new" marriage life. Wishing him a long & prosperous married life.

After a long time, thought of writing something very serious in this blog. Don't know whether its apt for me to discuss here, but if someone can give me a few idea how to solve the problem, I would be greatfull to them.

I have a friend, who was in love with a gal for about 4 years. Both belonged to different caste and you don't need any other reason to tear them apart. That gal was very crazy on him , but doesn't want to go against her father. So as usual(unlike our tamil cinema) in regular family, she tied knot with someone else, who damn know about her past love.

Problem is she couldn't forget this idiot and she wants him to take her somewhere from her husband. Though he is equally mad, somehow GYAN from friends like me and others hold him till now from taking any stupid steps.

Finally one fine day ( exactly 67 days of marriage) husband came to know about the affair and started thinking in a way usual husband would do. No one can blame the hubby as he have to keep up his family reputation. He is in a dillemma whether to keep her with him, inspite of knowing that she is not faithfull to him and have a fear she would fled away with my friend anytime.

What should we do in this case. I'm quite confused with the gal & my friend. Though their love is pure, we ca admit them after marriage. Its better to be away from the gal and help the guy to lead a peaceful life.

Puppy Love

Last two weeks were hell for me, when my company announced that it blocks BLOGGER website as its becoming more of a social chat kind of things. I strongly believe these people might have seen the comments section of PK or RAZ whose blog looks more like a online chat module than a blog.

Don't know whether I'm doing justice to myself, becuase I feel the contribution to blogs getting low day by day. External & Internal (don't read it as LAZY) forces pull me two steps down, if I climb one step :(

Have made a request to my IT team , not to block the blogspot.com website atleast as my noons are awake only because of them. Let see whether we get some response :)

Another good movie last friday night in STAR Movies, "Little MANHATTAN". Narrates a life of small boy who falls in love with a gal a year or two more than him. How he tries to attract her, how things goes wrong and how he retains / regains the love again. Watching all these bullshit love subjects of adults, this young puppy love story fascinated me a lot. If you have time just get a DVD or watch your TV column in newpaper to find out retelecast of the movie.

Gals....
More Gals... & more Gals.....

Ofcourse I'm not going to talk anything about them, but my room mate have a wild feeling that no gal is looking at him or his 'lady' LUCK is not wearing her contact lens properly. Sometime it happens that I too feel the same for him. Though he had a characteristics of Gajini Mohammed and tried atleast 10 to 12 gals still now from his engineering, unfortunately he couldn't convert even one He feels he is useless... What do I say?? People have strange things to worry about.

Eight Below

Another busy weeks.... invaruiably didn't do anything productive, but sometime it happens you end up with doing such things. Anyway, I'm not going to discuss anything here and waste another couple of hours here, boring me & you.

Last weekend, I was in chennai. My train reached the station at 5:55 am sharp unlike it used to be late by atleast 30 mins. My train companion was botheriong now & then right from 4 am about the chennai station, believe she is new to the city and was here for some program on NDTV ( I thought journalist have some sense of gathering knowledge about the places where they visit.. this was enitrely opposite or may be I'm the poor fellow appointed to give those details to here)

First , I thought of taking Auto from the prepaid stand, but after seeing the amount (Rs.102) decided to try out my old friend Pallavan :D. I never boarded the bus from Railway station, infact haven't used the bus for long time in chennai after 2003 March ( I bought my bike in March 2003).

It was around 6:45 am when I got my bus k18, which is supposedly to be the very frequest bus in the city connecting my locality & railway station. I was frustated by the waiting time {Ops Mgmt-naa ;) } and asked the neighbour sitting beside me. He shared a few thoughts on changing needs of people and few buses converted into hitech bus flying with colours ( I have seen only 3 colours Orange, Yello & blue, is there anything else too ?? ). The old man gave me good idea whats going on in Chennai. He was surprised to see a software engineer boarding bus in chennai ( Is that anything uncommon in chennai????).

Finally, I reached my place at 7:50 am. Though it was time consuming, I enjoyed the ride in bus a lot. It was totally different than what I experienced in bangalore or nasik.

P.S. : The title is a picture name, I saw last friday in Star Movies. Really beautiful movie teaching us about obidience, discipline and team spirit. Though actors are meare dogs, they speak more on management style. Leaving apart the crap portion of the hero, the dogs have done a splendid work in the movie. Have a chance to see the movie, watch it... its worth watching two times even.

Taxing the $uper RICH

Inspired from my Godfather Scott Adams Blog - Dilbert Blog on How to tax the Super Rich, trying my best what all we can do to the Indian $uper Rich.

As Rajni says in his Sivaji movie, "Richer gets rich; poorer gets poor". There are many riches, uncountably grown in the recent past. Correspondingly the Super Rich which were few a couple of decades ago were increased well in number.
Ambani, Sunil Bharati Mittal, Narayanamurthy, Azim Premji etc.etc. who owns at least Rs.100 Cr in their pockets, squeezes their CA just to get out of the Taxation Net. The normal 33% taxation doesn't help the government to tax out our guys and benefit the needy ones. Lets have a 'deal' as said by Scott Adams in his blog.

What could be the rights given to them which would not affect them invariably with the normal society? Here are few from me,

* Super riches can be given the double voting rights. In any case they won't come down in the hot sun and vote during election, so giving a double voting right will not affect the society or the candidate.

* Super Riches can get special VIP pass during the National festival and given a seat near President or PM. By any chance its going to be the Prez who will hoist the flag. So giving a seat near by that will not make any big implication, rather we can allow them to bid for the seat.

* We can allow the Super Riches to drive car at the speed of 200 KMPH after 10pm. As they keep their schedules of flight after 9pm, this would benefit them a lot. After 10 there won't be any big commutation by the regulars on road, so no disturbance to the citizens.

* We can allow all the Super Rich to build their houses in one particular area and make sure there will be uninterrupted facilities for them. Anyways now they are paying lot of bribe to the local persons to get the essential needs, why don't we make it legal, at least the government gets some money in its kitty.

* This is most important privilege - Given an option to have more than 1 legal wife. As they are Super Rich, they will be able to maintain two three houses. By this they can satisfy their existing "KEEP" and legalize all their dealings with them. In fact by this process, you demolish the "BENOMY" trade usually happens with this keep and get lot of black money into the market again. Disclaimer:- Government will not responsible for any characteristic & emotional mishaps happening because of this privilege. Its the sole responsibility of the Super Rich to maintain all the wives equally or proportionately.

I believe, have added a lot to this list. Though I'm not up to the creativity what Scott had about the Super Rich ( neither even to the extent of his comments), trust have gave some insight on what I'm trying to say here. You have some more ideas in your mind, please pen them down as comment, will compile and send it across the P.Chidambaram.

Gobi Lollipop

Quite interesting to know that, I have started blogging again ( that too weekly twice or thrice). Suddenly, I have many things to share, but not sure whether everything would be appropriate to pen down here.

Yesterday, there was team lunch. Good part of your office being nearby MG Road is you have lot of place to hangout. My boss use to say for every 10 steps you keep in MG Raod, you will come across 2 eating hangouts. I tried counting and am sure he also did that, becuase it was precises.

One of the onsite co-ordinator for our project came to India to get married, so there was a party arrnaged (Mind, its the 3 party in this month and hope to have more in a row). We went to a hotel called EMGEE, decent place, nice food and resonable rates. If anyone happens to take your food in MG Road, Bangalore try this restaurant inside HOTEL SHELTON.

I'm getting into the team now. As usual the topic is about Cricket or Calcutta. If they ( the team) are saturated with either of these, then the topic will be about Balki or Vijaykanth. Even my Practicse Lead who is from Pune was very much aware and intersted in discussing about Balki & VK. I believe, if VK does some movies in Hindi, soon he can progress in the National Politics.

Three Cheers to VK!

One good thing about having lunch with your boss is you don't have to pay anything :D & you will also get the freedom to chose & eat whatever you wish to. Finally the menu,

1. Roti-3
2. Paneer Masala Thikka
3. Aloo Kadai Dum
4. Chinese Noodles
5. Fried Papad
6. Tomato Soup
&
7. Gobi Lollipop

Negotiation Skill

Whenever we talk of salary increases and pay negotiations, nine out of ten people suffer palpitations. Remember, being shy, scared, whiny and my job speaks for itself never works. Raise your hand to be heard or learn the tactics to get your word in. Negotiation is an acquired skill.

I thought I wanted a career, turns I just wanted a paycheck
This is what most negotiations turn into, if we are not prepared beforehand and are not clear minded about our reasons for seeking the new job change.

Let the employers initiate the salary negotiations
Joy, a marketing executive was doing well in a small company. His salary was tied to the commissions he got on the business he brought in. He was out in the field and learnt a lot. The problems was there was no clear hierarchy in the job. His boss was doing the same, he saw no avenues for growth. Hence, he applied in an upcoming aviation company for the post of assistant marketing manager. When it came to salary negotiations he let it slip that his previous company paid him a commission on business brought in.

The employers outright rejected the idea and quoted a salary which was marginally higher than what he was getting, Joy accepted without buying any time to think through the offer.

Never accept outright
According to human resource managers there is a general band of salary that the prospective employers have in mind and they quote the lower end of that band.

You do not want to show your eagerness to settle for whatever salary being offered, they expect you to ask for more. Do so, but do not outprice yourself. According to a former human resource executive and a consultant, Neeta Navin, the employers always keep a 10 percent margin for negotiations.

And in case you do not get the salary you expect but the company is excellent with good prospects go for it, she advices. Most companies bring you at par within three months if you perform well.

Skill set and experience
Back your demands with your job achievements and skill sets. You cannot just ask for more because you are moving jobs, it is because you think you are suitable and deserve the hike.

Joy erred on the side of caution, the company was new, he had an excellent track record and brought tremendous goodwill and skill sets. He never calculated his worth right

Compensation package
Negotiations are not just about a salary hike. One can negotiate a good compensation package including healthcare benefits, stock options, profit sharing, quarterly salary review instead of yearly, a signing bonus, education allowances, relocating allowance, a company car, travel costs, the list is endless.

Rickshaw - mama

Have you ever travelled in a rickshaw? Those who were born after 1989, this would be a weird word. Almost this rickshaw has become extinct in today's world.

This post is about a small time travel from my school to house when I was studying 7 std. It was a sunday evening, I was returning from my Scouts Camp. My mom asked me to hire a rickshaw and come home on my own. That was my first trip travelling alone. I was bit nervous. I haven't travelled alone anywhere, not even to the neighbourhood shops or houses. I use to play inside our house compound. My mom always asked me to go out & play, but I was afraid.

Everyone left from the school, either with their parents or friends. Unfortunately, I don't have any friends, who passes by my home or near to the area. It was 6:30pm in the evening and I still remember the yellow coloured rickshaw standing outside my school. The rickshaw man was heavily built, with big moustache and a scar near his neck. Being a small, city based boy, like everyone, I was also obssesed by the filmy villans which portraited him very well.

For a moment, I stood outside and school gate and asked my school gaurd to help me out in finding a rickshaw for me. The old man was very kind, he came with me to the rickshawman and asked him whether he can take me to my home which is some 3 km from my school. The rickshaw man accepted and asked for Rs.12 . I opened my bag to check whether I had that much money. I took three Rs 100, five Rs. 50, two Rs.10 and one Rs.5 note. The rickshawman giggled saying, you are rich boy and laughed. Again my inner villanic feeling started daunting me. I felt, this guy is going to steal my money on the way. I said, I don't want rickshaw and I'll go on my own. The gaurd insisted that I won't get anyother rickshaw and I have to walk till my house as it is a sunday evening.

This is even worse. I boarded the rickshaw. The rickshaw man got the address from me and asked me what standard I was studying, what is my name etc.etc. I was not comfortable. I answered everything in one word and kept quiet. In the middle, he turned in another way than the straight route. I was puzzled why he is going in the wrong route. I asked him. He said, this is short cut and we will reach soon. I was again afraid and demanded him to go in the straight route. Becuase I know this short cut would be a abandoned route where you will not be heard by anyone, even in case of any emergency.

The rickshaw man turned back and said, this my rickshaw and I'll decide which way I should go. If you are not willing, you can get down immediately. I don't have choice , becuase finding another rickshaw is difficult. I agreed and after 10 minutes, he stopped near a house and said, "wait here for sometime, I'll be back". I got backed up with all my fear. I nodded my head. After he his head disappeared in the building, I jumped off the rickshaw and ran. I know I'm somewhere near my house, but not sure, where I'm and in which direction I'm heading to. I was running for about 10 mins on the road. Very few people where there on the roads ( Again I cursed the SUNDAY).

After a moment, I saw my uncle walking on the roads. I went near him. He was surprised and took me to my home. I told everything to my mom and she started laughing at me. I was getting angry on her. Later she gave me a good coffee and I came outside the balcony to have it. To my shock, I saw the rickshaw man standing outside some two house from my gate and looking here and there. I ran back to my mom and told her, " see that guy has come here itself, he is going to kidnap me". And I started crying. She came outside and went to that rickshaw man. He handed over something to her and he left.

Mom came back to me and asked where is my bag? I just then remembered, I left my bag in the rickshaw itself. My mom gave the bag to me and said," the rickshawala gave this bag to you. He was supposedly, going to his house to say his children, he will be late for the day, by then you have jumped out and came home."

I felt very embracing. I wanted to say sorry to the rickshawman for thinking wrongly aboiut him, but he wasn't there. I haven't seen him after that even near his house. I'm still searching for him, hope to find soon.

Rajni Vs. Sivaji

Rajni...

Sivaji...

Who is the REAL BOSS?

From 6 year old to 90 year right from kanaka in ambasamuthiraam till Jack Scheweeps in Amsterdam everyone were murmuring these 3 words for past one month. No doubt Sivaji has created a clean sweeps of every other film released during the period, making a clear blockbuster of the year.

But it also leaves lot of speculation for next movie of Rajni, Shankar & AVM too. With a expensive budget of Rs. 60 Cr. the movie is estimated to make Rs.125 Cr. before its 100th day, if everything goes well.

Now the question is the sucess of this movie is because of Rajni or the intelligent marketing done by Sivaji team? Take a look at the picture below.
This is graph of key word Rajni used across the planet on various blogs. Now trying the same for key word Sivaji,

Sivaji - key word has taken a clear and outstanding performance in the last 180 days across many blogs. May be due to Sivaji reviews floating around the blog world in the past 30 days. But equal and even in some places Rajni keyword also received high acclaimnation as its his movie. To take a better look on this lets have a comparison of both Sivaji & Rajni.

A 30 day keyword comparison shows us that Sivaji has much better publicity in blog world than Rajni.

Still you don't believe, then take a close comparison for past 6 months - the period during which release of Sivaji was hedged and only Rajni name was prevailing all over the net.

What does this depict to us? Sivaji was Super Duper hit because its Rajni movie or becuase of excellent marketing done by the AVM team? I leave the answers to readers.
