Dynamics of recruitment is changing over the time. Long back when my uncle wanted to join a decent company it was pretty difficult for him - reason ? he had secured only Diploma, which was often seen as a low end course. After a long struggle to stabilize his career he did engineering in AU and joined a company. Now he is holding a post of GM for the design team in his company.
My mom joined the government organization right after her PUC when she was 18 yrs. The difference between my mom's career graph and my uncles is just 10 yrs apart. A decade ago engineering bloomed as high paying career option for Indians- thanks to IT outsourcing boom. I'm very specific because, India is still doing the back office work in IT services and not yet the products. Well thats a different topic altogether- we will see it some other day!
Way back in 1999-2002, the Indian IT companies believed in linear growth, i.e, more projects = more manpower. The need of engineers suddenly surged and resulted in mushrooms of Engineering college across the country (still only a boom in major towns & cities). More demand & less supply = high price; simple economics. Companies like Infosys, Wipro and TCS started hiking the salary more than the growth of bank interest or real estate need. They proved that engineering is better investment.
But it didn't sustain for long - reason? Outsourcing always aim at reducing something. If GE is gonna pay $20 on its mainland IT services, by outsourcing they expect to do it by $15. So over the period, price gets reduced (more competition = reduced price). Companies now need to find ways to cut cost.
If you look at IT companies balance sheet, in the expenditure column Salary to Employees will be the major chunk (nearly 30~45%). After 10 years, now IT companies have realized the monster they have built all these years has come back to haunt them. They need to find alternate to engineering. By the way, what these engineers do in IT company? Simple they code. They write piece of logical steps to run something (mostly a software). What makes them highly priced? 1. Demand and 2. Technology - both are dynamic.
IT companies decided to play down their Engineering needs. They started recruiting the less used route of BSc., BCom grads. Its much easily available and IT companies doesn't need a guy who knows laplace transform or Butterfly theory (both are specialized for Communication engineering). They need someone who know simple maths and logical thinking. They started hiring these people at much cheaper salary (5K~11K) comparitively less than engineers (11K~17K). Now I call them really innovative. They cut their cost by 50% while getting the same work done.
Couple of days back, I read Blog of Krishna, who introduced me ZOHO University which hires school students (apparently claims to be between 16 ~20 yrs of age). Now India already doesn't have a sound education model which encourages or inculcates research based study. The exams just build competitiveness within the individual and does really help him to apply the education even after 3/4 years of good education.
By hiring people under 20, who are passed out of schools we are creating a society which will not have formal education which is a basic right of the individual. Though ZOHO claims to provide the best "neccessary" education, end of the day down after 5 years, even if the individual wish to take up a master's degree or something outside India, they would never be able to do that. Because formal education is must for any other university based education. Just to improve their bottomline & profits ZOHO is trying to mis use the unavailability of education to certain sections. Instead if they would tie up with some university like and provide a part time job it would be more beneficial for them.
So from Grads to Diploma to High School students, whom they are going to recruit next? Babies?

சிறு சிறு எண்ணங்கள் ...
எனக்கு ஒரு வித்தியாசமான பழக்கம். எப்போ ஆரம்பிச்சதுன்னு தெரியல , ஆனா கொஞ்ச நாளா அடிக்கடி வருது. ஒன்னும் இல்லைங்க, நீங்க சினிமா பாட்டு பார்பீங்களா? அதுல வர துணை நடிகைகள் மேல எனக்கு ஒரு கண்ணு. அய்யே ! தப்பா நீனைகாதீங்க, just ஒரு ஆர்வம். பாட்டுல main actors விட்டு இந்த துணை நடிகர்களை தான் நான் ரொம்ப நேரம் watch பண்ணுவேன்.
சில பேர் ரொம்ப நல்லா ஆடுவாங்க. இன்னும் சொல்ல போனா மத்தவங்கள விட நல்லாவே ஆடுவாங்க. For example, இந்த கத்தாழ கண்ணால பாட்டு இருக்குல அதுல வர பொண்ணு சூப்பரா ஆடும். இது மாதிரி ஒரு பெரிய லிஸ்டே வச்சிருக்கேன்.
இவங்களுக்கெல்லாம் ஏன் நிரைய chance கிடைக்க மாட்டேன்குதுனு தெரியல. Moreover, இவங்க வாழ்க்கை ரொம்ப கஷ்டமா வேற இருக்கும். திரைல முழுசவும் காட்ட மாட்டாங்க. சம்பளமும் ரொம்ப குறைச்சல். Proper recognition கிடைச்சாலே நம்ப ஆளுங்க பேர்சி மேஞ்சிடுவாங்க. இந்த மாதிரி வர பாதி பொண்ணுங்க வீட்ட விடு சினிமா ஆசைல ஓடிவந்தவங்கள தான் இருப்பாங்க. அவங்க நிலைமை நினைச்சாலே வருத்தமா இருக்கு.
இதே கொஞ்சம் contrast பார்த்த இதே industry ல Rich Girls அப்பிடீனு ஒரு கூட்டமும் இருக்கு. அவங்க normally காலேஜ் போய்ட்டு இருக்கிற பொண்ணுங்களா இருபாங்க. அப்பா அம்மா கொடுக்கிற காசு பத்தலனு இதுவேற தனியா. சொன்ன நம்ப மாட்டீங்க. என்னோட நண்பனோட friend ஒருத்தி (bar ல சந்திச்சனாம்) இந்த மாதிரி ஒரு படத்துல நடிச்சிருக்க (கன்னட படம், பேரு வாய்லயே நுழையல) அவங்க வீட்டுல சண்டை வந்து, பொண்ணு இப்போ வெளிய தங்கி இருக்கு. அவங்க அப்பா பெல்லாரில பெரிய ஆளாம். எப்படி இருந்த பொண்ணு இப்படி ஆகிடுச்சேன்னு வருத்ததுலையே போய் சேர்ந்துடாரம். கேக்கவே கஷ்டமா இருந்துச்சு.

என்று தணியும் இந்த கொலைவெறி?
இன்னுமொரு பயங்கரம். காஷ்மிரை துளைத்தது பத்தாதென்று இந்தியாவின் மற்ற பாகங்களையும் சல்லடையாக்க புறப்பட்டது போல் தெரிகின்றது.இம்முறை இந்த கொடுமையை பக்கத்திலிருந்து உணர முடிந்தது என்னால். ஆனால் எதுவுமே செய்ய முடியாததை நினைத்தால் வெட்கமாக இருக்கிறது.
செய்தது யாராக இருப்பினும் முதல் பழி இஸ்லாம் நண்பர்கள் மீதே விழும். அதுவும் இந்த முறை பாரதிய ஜனதா ஆளும் மாநிலங்களில் நடப்பது இன்னும் அவர்கள் வாய்க்குள் அவல் இட்டது போல் ஆகிவிட்டது.
இடையினில் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு விழிப்பது இஸ்லாமிய நண்பர்களே. நேற்று வெளியே சென்ற பொழுது ஒரு இஸ்லாமிய பெரியவரை சந்தேகமாக பார்த்த விழிகள் தான் எத்துனை எத்துனை? எங்கோ ஒரு கயவன் வைத்த குண்டினால் நாட்டில் உள்ள எல்லோரையும் சந்தேகத்தோடு பார்க்க வேண்டிய நிலைமை.

Sport Leagues of India
Well, I'm not going to discuss something just about Bhajji - Sreesanth controversies. You could find a lot about them in other Blogs or website. And being in a nation that worships Cricketers as god and cricket as a religion , I feel like better stay away and watch it.
Sports Leagues are not new to India. We already have Mohun Bagan, Mahindra United or Kingfisher East Bengal for football sport which was well established. The only drawback is less promotions and audience didn't give exposure to these clubs.
What makes ICL & IPL more interesting is not just the sport, but the money rolling into these. It seems over $2 Billion is the amount revolving in one or other form in IPL through various channels like franchising, advertisements, marketing, Bids etc., Though copied from the UK based sports leagues one should appreciate the BCCI team for setting up a successfull League like IPL.
I asked my friend, who played in couple of Ranchi Trophy matches about what does these Leagues bring in to our country. Some of the very interesting things I noticed are,
1. These helps in knowing well about other country players.
2. Suppose to create a good relation with peers of domestic & foreign players.
3. More professionalism in the sport.

He said this will develop maturity among the hardcore cricket fans. We all know what happened to Dhoni's house when India didn't reach semi finals in World Cup. That's because they don't have enough maturity to understand the loss. These kind of format will make them to understand what is loss and make the crowd more balanced personality.
And the drawbacks,
Lot of money rolling, so chances of more betting and gambling. More bookies, more dirty games might be played. Its very hard to neglect gambling in sport, but then I feel govt can better legalize it to some extent. Everyone know alcohol is bad for health, but no one is interested in banning it, because it makes money for country. Similar way they can make this gambling a legal business and generate money out of it.
Counter for this arguement can be - Better get back the Lottery System :D

How expectation can ruin your life
Last week my friend called me up and said, "macchaa antha Uma Maheshwari kandukave maatengrada". He spoke as a frustrated guy and was in a critical position of getting mad soon.
Okay before getting further onto the topic a small intro about my friend, A well to do software guy, who fell in love every year right from his 8th std on some or other gal. Fortunately or unfortunately few gals do reciprocated the "feelings" which he properly converted to a relationship. But he never carried this relationship for long time. Either the situation makes way or he creates situation in such a way that they broke up after sometime.
Everytime he broke up he will come to me and cry and say this my last love affair and will never marry anyone. But you can see him again with some gal the very next week in some cafe coffee day or Besant Nagar beach.
Coming back to the story, this gal Uma Maheshwari, was not so close to him. They started chatting an year ago and she already had an affair with some guy which broke up after getting a good slaps from her father. Now this gal was pretty clear in her relationship with my friend. She wasn't interested in being love with him or marry him. For that matter, even or hero was not interested in marriage.
I asked him why he would be interested to have a relationship for not having a long term relationship. I asked, what is his expectation from her? He replied, "I just want her to be friend of mine". Soemthing was strange, I told him, "she is still your friend. Then why do you bother?". He said," I don't know, but I want her to be mine"
Okay, now this guy doesn't want her to marry, but should be in relation which is above friendship. After a few more conversation I understood that this guy need some psyhic treatment. The reason behind his restlessness is he never faced a failure from any of his past affairs with ladies (I make it generalized WOMEN factor). Neither his mother, nor his sister has opposed his expectations, they primarily left for his choice. The same happened for him with his previous relationships where he infact USED his galfriend for his purpose and left them as it is. Even the gals haven't opposed to this kinda activity.
I might use some strong words here, but when we analyze thoroughly, there are many people like this in our society who unknowingly become male chauvinist. This guy is in serious danger that when he get married and if his wife is of opposite nature, both their life would be in chaos.
When I tried explaining him, he nodded his head, but after few days he came to me and said "machha, I can't forget her" . It is something that he only can try changing it.
Guys be careful. Its not everytime you can dominate WOMEN.
Gals try to say NO when it is neccessary. Otherwise you will feel bad at later point of time.

Every girl's desire who goes in for an arranged marriage
Got this in my mail box,
The woods were lovely dark and deep. Walking slowly beside her, in the damp mud road, was her husband whom she barely knew. He was very relaxed, happily watching a group of kids playing at a distance. Her "mehandi" was still dark and smelling fresh, reminding of the excitements and tension 2 days back. "It cant work this way mom...please stop this", she kept telling her mother till the last moment, who wouldnt listen but carry on with beautifying her. She had been crying all night and her make-up had to be patched up twice or thrice to hide her awkwardly swollen face.
It was too late now. She had to get married "NOW" to the guy...The guy whom she had seen once and talked thrice. The guy about whom she knew nothing at all but for his name and work. everything happened in a hurry and everthing was over before she could breathe again... here was she with this guy, all alone in this hill station... how can anybody send their daughter such a long distance with a stranger???
"Hey look at that....!!!" he shouted in excitement... she shrugged and looked where his finger pointed... Bright colored balloons dotted the sky.Children were jumping in joy and he seemed to be completely absorbed into it...colors are always exciting...but not now. She was not with her friends, not with her team mates, not even with her parents. This was not a3 day tour or team building trip. This was her life and she has been forced to start off with this person.Loneliness and discomfort with this stranger was sickening...She looked at him in wonder... does he even realize that he has married me? Does he understand that he has to love me, protect me, care for me, a new girl, a stranger, all his life?
The marriage morning started like a daylight nightmare for her. The first time in life she felt she should have fallen in love and then married somebody. some man who she would have felt more comfortable with, someone whom she could call by name and introduce to friends, someone whom she could trust. But marriage morning was obviously not the time to think all these.
Her parents would never have said "no" if she had declared that she was in love. But she was not emotionally attached to anybody she met, especially guys. She was very friendly, playing, teasing, but never had second thought for any man around her. That brought the entire responsibility of looking for a groom on her parents' shoulders. Her parents had had a very bad time with this entire process. They started their groom search with unending "&"operation. The concatenation of "Horoscope matching" & "Decent family" & "Good looking" & "Good pay" & "same cast" & so on... that always gave 0 output. Now after all that 8 months hunt, they were not ready to hear her "ifs" and "buts" for this 'good guy'.
She had explained to her father. She does not feel anything for this person. He is nothing more to me than any other software professional. Like list of names she sees in the chat rooms. Distant and usual...Her father asked her to talk to him and even meet him and discuss their likes and dislikes. That meeting started like the induction programme self introduction and ended like a 3 hour seminar.She was waiting to get away from that place. "So did you talk with him?". "yes". "was he polite and decent". "yes". "Oh he got that special flavoured tri-color icecream...!!!".OK. All her family and relatives discussed...She was given the chance to "understand her life partner" and that they have understood each other "well" and she is ready for the marriage now.
All arrangements geared up and it was 24 days after her first meeting that she was getting married to her man... perfect match as everybody else described. Marriage hall was full with excited people, kids got the chance to play, ladies got the chance to wear the silk saree. The smell of rose and jasmine filled the hall. Different poses for the photographer and artificial smiles for the videos. The moment he had tied the sacred thread was unexplainable vaccum in the head. It was over. She was his wife.Accepted by the society and law. Her proud parents were relaxed. This was their duty they had been planning to fulfill since she was born. All this crowd will fade away, leaving her to explore her new world...
He pulled her hand gently to sit on the stone bench. The bench was wet and the chillness was indeed enjoyable. "So what are you thinking about?"...that was an unexpected ball. should she reply? should she be silent? She remembered the two hour presentation she had taken last month. Bold and confident, she kept answering all the queries with a broad smile. Now she remained silent. "Do you know honey... I was not for this marriage too..."Oh my God... what did i hear??? did HE tell that or did i think aloud? what does he mean? didnt he like me? was he forced into this? He must have noticed the quizzical look on my face...with a gentle smile he continued..."I wanted to look for a girl myself, buy her everything, care for her, argue with her, laugh and cry with her, then get married to her...Anything otherwise would be a drama. Traditional drama and i was not for it anytime. But my love for my work and also my stress would not give me time and mind to search that girl...When your parents talked to me 2 weeks before our marriage, about your fear of getting married, to a stranger, i could completely understand your mind. I could see myself in you and that was the moment i decided i will marry you. There was no time to prove myself to you, make you trust me, everything happened in a hurry. But there was the entire life before me, to please you, to love you, to make you trust me. This is no less than what i had dreamt, the girl i was waiting for, is you. Now tell me... will you love me???" Tears came down her cheek.
Her parents had done more than their duty. They had found her the perfect guy. Thank you Mom!!! Thank you Dad!!! His question remained unanswered yet both knew the answer....

Adorable Father
ரொம்ப நாளா நம்ம முன்னாள் குடியரசு தலைவர் அப்துல் கலாம் போல hairstyle பண்ணனும்னு நினைச்சு வளர்க்க ஆரம்பிச்ச, அது காளை சிம்பு போல சிலுப்பிக்கிட்டு இருந்துச்சு. பாக்கிறவங்க எல்லாம் நான் எதோ சாமியாரா போக போற மாதிரி கேக்க ஆரம்பிச்சிடாங்க. So , இந்த வினையே வேண்டாம்னு , திருப்பதி போய் மொட்டை போட்டுவோம்னு இரண்டு வாரம் முன்னாடி நானும் என் roommate கிளம்பினோம்.
பெங்களுருலிருந்து திருப்திக்கு APSRTC மூலமாக டிக்கெட் புக் பண்ணி கிளம்பினோம். மொத்தம் 45 seat ஆனா 43 பேரு தான் வந்திருந்தாங்க. இந்த 43 பேருல ரெண்டு பேர் மட்டும் என் கவனத்தை இழுத்தாங்க. ஒருத்தர் A young father of 1 year old child. Other one, a young lady.
First the Father, a young guy, just now married and got a child came to tirupathi for some reason along with his wife and two friends and his machinan (bro-in-law). First time got to see a Father who cares his child a lot. Not even a single moment he left his child alone. Except during the feeding periods. Rest all two days, he was carrying him on his back like a Kangaroo. I was totally surprised to see that. I had seen many impatient fathers who just throw their child to wife as if its her duty to take care of him/her.
While travelling from Thirupathi to Tirumala on the link journey , the child started crying on top of his voice. Not even the mother can do soemthing as she also clueless what was wrong. The Father then took him and went on a small walk within the bus. The child stopped crying once he was carried . And after that the whole journey, the father was walking on the bus with him.
I always adore such a lovable fathers and felt how proud his child can be :)

Why Global Warming is a hoax?
Global Warming -
I'm not going to say what is Global Warming and why it is on the news for all these days. You can read a lot of article on that by Googling. I'm here to say, why Global Warming is a Hoax.
There are several reasons for the so called Scietists to claim on GW and one of the important factor is the "human activities". Since they can't prove that other man made stuffs (which are still hazardous to human health in many ways) are causing problem for GW, they landed to something is theoritical and generic in nature.
Why do we say Humans are not responsible for the cause of GW? Check out this website which tabulates all the reasons for GW to be a Hoax. Some of them here for your convinience.

the word that dumped wealth for many people;

It is a pure cheap play of politicians and business tycoons across the globe to back this "Nothing Worth" movement. A desire on the part of climate science researchers to attract financial support. A desire on the part of conservative political leaders including Margaret Thatcher,[19][21] and Helmut Kohl [22] to promote nuclear power while attracting the political support of Green groups.
These would infact lit up fire for more Nuclear Deals (which when something goes wrong will put several lifes in stake) than improving the environmental conditions of the Planet.

This is just another fear created by Americans like the Y2K, which is ultimately nothing. Finally 2000 busted the Dot Com companies leading to huge financial crisis around the world. Similar way they are boosting Global Warming, which is a useless analysis that would cause huge loss to the mankind that it is expected by the GW itself.
By Y2K - India got a new avenue for growth, but by GW they are thrashing the growth of African countries which are still under developed (and could be a potential threat to US Industrialization). Americans never do things which are not beneficial for them. And GW is one which would save their *** and help them to build their wealth by suppressing other countries growth. Today it is AFRICA; Tomorrow it might be ASIA?
P.S.: I'm not against Environmental Protection. But I can't go around for something is fake & hoax. If each individual is disciplined by the way he lives, there is no need to panic on anything in this world. GW is a fear created by a group of people for their benefit- better don't fall the trap.
P.S.: This post is NOT against anyone. But against the GW. Its to support the Conspiracy Theory on Global Warming. I'm laying only the facts on this post. Let the readers be the judge. Don't be a cheer leader for something that doesn't exist.

Taxing the $uper RICH
Inspired from my Godfather Scott Adams Blog - Dilbert Blog on How to tax the Super Rich, trying my best what all we can do to the Indian $uper Rich.
As Rajni says in his Sivaji movie, "Richer gets rich; poorer gets poor". There are many riches, uncountably grown in the recent past. Correspondingly the Super Rich which were few a couple of decades ago were increased well in number.
Ambani, Sunil Bharati Mittal, Narayanamurthy, Azim Premji etc.etc. who owns at least Rs.100 Cr in their pockets, squeezes their CA just to get out of the Taxation Net. The normal 33% taxation doesn't help the government to tax out our guys and benefit the needy ones. Lets have a 'deal' as said by Scott Adams in his blog.
What could be the rights given to them which would not affect them invariably with the normal society? Here are few from me,
* Super riches can be given the double voting rights. In any case they won't come down in the hot sun and vote during election, so giving a double voting right will not affect the society or the candidate.
* Super Riches can get special VIP pass during the National festival and given a seat near President or PM. By any chance its going to be the Prez who will hoist the flag. So giving a seat near by that will not make any big implication, rather we can allow them to bid for the seat.
* We can allow the Super Riches to drive car at the speed of 200 KMPH after 10pm. As they keep their schedules of flight after 9pm, this would benefit them a lot.After 10 there won't be any big commutation by the regulars on road, so no disturbance to the citizens.
* We can allow all the Super Rich to build their houses in one particular area and make sure there will be uninterrupted facilities for them. Anyways now they are paying lot of bribe to the local persons to get the essential needs, why don't we make it legal, at least the government gets some money in its kitty.
* This is most important privilege - Given an option to have more than 1 legal wife. As they are Super Rich, they will be able to maintain two three houses. By this they can satisfy their existing "KEEP" and legalize all their dealings with them. In fact by this process, you demolish the "BENOMY" trade usually happens with this keep and get lot of black money into the market again. Disclaimer:- Government will not responsible for any characteristic & emotional mishaps happening because of this privilege. Its the sole responsibility of the Super Rich to maintain all the wives equally or proportionately.
I believe, have added a lot to this list. Though I'm not up to the creativity what Scott had about the Super Rich ( neither even to the extent of his comments), trust have gave some insight on what I'm trying to say here. You have some more ideas in your mind, please pen them down as comment, will compile and send it across the P.Chidambaram.
